So many fun outdoor actives I have been able to be part of when I’m not writing of rewriting. My grandkids are growing up too fast. Here’s to summer fun!
The garden has not disappointed this season—such lovely colors. When I need a break from my story writing, I sit on my patio enjoying being surrounded by beauty.
It’s been a few years since I went to our county fair. I took two of my grandsons, bought them an unlimited pass for the rides, and went exploring. I loved the craft building filled with 4-H projects. So many kids are talented. Then I talked to a few animals, and strangers who are new friends. The weather was partly overcast and in the seventies with a slow light breeze. Perfect, just perfect!
After six years of publishing and learning so many new skills, I decided to take the summer to rewrite my first three adult novels. Why? Because I knew I could do better. They will be released sometime this year in ebook and audio format.
Obviously, reading fills most days. The Bible is a daily read for me. I’m using one of the Bible apps for the year read through the Bible, spending time in the Old and New Testaments with my grown son, and doing research for Junior Church and a Ladies’ Study I teach. Yep, people are important.
The two books on the top, left-hand corner are ready for rewrites. One will be released in October (more to come later), and the other, perhaps, at the end of the he year.
The bottom two books have been out for the last year. Both books are now available in audio, paperbook, and ebook formats. Actually, it’s The Nanny’s Lost Legends’ one-year birthday!
I walk daily. Living in a country setting gives me endless opportunities to observe nature up close and praise God for His Creation!
TREES
I long to see the seasons of the trees:
Spring’s breath with bursting bud,
Summer’s languishing shade against the sun,
Autumn’s bold and brilliant colors,
Winter’s sleepy branches intertwined.
I often long to sit still and gaze:
Under spring blossoms sweet and still,
Near Summers’ shade to cool my brow,
In Autumn’s colored leaves, I jump,
During winter’s latticed branches I stare.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter:
There is a changing of the guard,
Where boredom never rests,
God’s hand is at its best as,
I sit here, the trees’ earthly guest.
