In the beginning darkness spread its veil,
before the setting of the first golden sunset,
earlier than man stepping on the earth;
at first ALL was righteous, good, upright.
Originally, it was God who made a perfect, pleasant place for all to live in harmony!
In the end, it becomes the creation’s honor,
as time trickles to an expectant climax,
to finish the race with full responsibility,
respect and in the resolution of all time
tending to things with a positive closure.
One day soon, there will be a new Earth!
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.”
Psalm 24:1-2
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”
Revelation 21:1
Home is a sacred thing. We have failed to honor it. (K)

I am afraid humans have not been good stewards of this beautiful earth that was given to us. If we cannot heal this world we have, perhaps, we should pray for a reset.

I’m a fan of Christian ideas of Rapture, as it will lighten the Earth of much of its burden. Or some, anyway. Maybe that prophecy is an agent of God’s healing of Earth. Another reading of rapture might be an inward awakening to our lost sense of stewardship. It’s something surely to celebrate on Earth Day! Best, Brendan

I see your point. God’s main concern is of man. There are many changes needed to be made. Care for the earth and a changed heart for man.

I love the message (assuming I perceived it correctly). …
Unfortunately, many of Canada’s Conservatives are ideologically aligned with the pro-fossil-fuel mainstream American Evangelical community and Republican Party. They generally share the belief that to defend the natural environment from the planet’s greatest polluters, notably big fossil fuel, is to go against God’s will and therefore is inherently evil.
No wonder they hate any carbon tax. For conservatives they sure pollute the planet most liberally.

A positive closure and a new earth might be a good thing!

Responsibility is the key word, since we were given a bountiful garden. We have not treated it well. I like the quote about the new earth coming, after the old one has passed away. Though it would be better if humans could set about repairing this one now.

Yes, we can hope people would give back what they have taken.

The opening lines begin so hopefully, Patti, with the ‘setting of the first golden sunset’ and a ‘perfect, pleasant place for all to live in harmony’. Things could have been so different if the human race had paid more attention to responsibility and respect.

Thanks Kim. Yes, we are stewards of the earth. Unfortunately, most don’t realities.
